Terminator 2 - Judgement Day
Director: James Cameron
Star(s): Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, Robert Patrick and Edward Furlong
Date: 1991
Themes: Science-fiction and robots
Review:

In my opinion this is the only sequel that has done better than the original. The story is not so much about the woman but about her son John (Robert Patrick). Two robots are sent back in time: one who's mission is to kill the boy while he is still young (Edward Furlong) and the other is sent to protect him (Arnold Schwarzenegger). The film is filled with thrilling chases and close encounters.

The film succeeds due to its eerie music, suspense and the constant reminder of the deadly robots that frankly, give me the creeps. I think Robert Patrick does an excellent job and I am surprised he is not a big star now. The film also began Linda Hamilton's stardom and it makes her recent film Dante's Peak look pitiful. I think where this one worked unlike its predecessor is that Arnie just isn't very good at playing a baddie and also this one isn't as dark as the last and is aimed at a much wider age group.
