Titanic did amazingly well all over the globe managing to pick up 11 Oscars and it was the largest box office smash ever.
The story, as the title suggests, consisted of a boat sinking...with Leo and Kate creating the most doomed relationship ever to be seen on the big screen!
It starts with a group of people searching the now-ruined Titanic and discovering a painting of a woman wearing only an expensive necklace (La coeur de la mer) which they have been searching for.
A woman (old Rose) explains that she is the woman in the painting and describes her time on the Titanic.
The story then goes back in time to Titanic's maiden voyage. Rose (Kate Winslet) who is a first class passenger on her way to America meets and ultimately falls in love with Jack (Leo DiCapprio) who is a third class passenger who won his ticket for Titanic in a card game.
The film tells the couple's few days together on the Titanic, how they fall in love against everyone's wishes and finally their fight for survival when the boat finally sinks after a very prolongued couple of hours.
The film does seem to go on for rather long but it keeps the interest quite well with speculative storylines and enchanting music from James Horner who also created the music for Braveheart.
