Review:

The story, set in the future, begins with an everyday man with a normal job who begins to dream of a time he lived on Mars and a girl he never believes he has met before. He begins to uncover a set of lies and discovers that his whole life has been made: his friends aren't friends, his wife was hired to be his wife and he isn't who he believes he is. Confusing I know but all is revealed after a trip to mars first through an unsuccesful simulation called total recall and finally in person. He meets the girl in his dreams and discovers that they have had relationship before and who he really is.

The film gives a great depiction of what life would be like on Mars but it mainly shows the horrible side with poverty and deformed children because of the lack of air.

A frightening performance by Arnold Schwarzenegger but I don't believe you get enough incite into the character and the feelings of a man who's life isn't real. The character is similar to the role he plays in The Running Man. Sharon Stone has a small but vital role as the fake "bitchy" wife which is well worth watching.
